ART PORNOGRAPHY - NAKED MEN

Art or Pornography? This has been an issue placed here several times regarding erotic photography. The more audacious the photographs are it seems that the general opinion is that it should be included in the first category. It is true that the nude human body possesses intrinsic aesthetic properties that can be captured in a photographic image and, calmed by this irrefutable reality, the adept of erotic photography are looking to increase both sides of the objective.

 But it´s fair to say that our aesthetic appreciation is vulgarly conditioned by the characteristics of the model, confused by their beauty and incapable of observing the technical and artistic qualities of photography itself. And how does erotic photography have as a tradition a wide range of female models, ask yourself: would it be the same if the models were male and exhibited impudently their sexual organs? Naked men?

Photographer Jörg Riethausen is autodidactic; he does publicity jobs, fashion but what truly interests him is eroticism, overall, the people, independently from their sex. That way, is models include men and women, both portrayed in an exemplary manner by his objectivity in superb compositions and precise games of light/shadow. And undoubtedly a good photographer, I believe. Judge for yourselves, men and women.
